Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
Your journal is private.
Three Good Things is built around a simple idea: your good things are yours. Your journal entries are stored securely and privately on your device. We do not operate a journal-sync service, and we do not receive, read, store, or have access to your journal entries. We cannot look up your entries, recover them for you, or view them from a server.
If you use iCloud Backup or another device backup, iOS may include app data in backups according to your Apple device settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Three Good Things.
Information stored securely and privately on your device
The information below is kept locally on your iPhone for the app to work. It is not uploaded to us, and we have zero access to it:
- your journal entries and the dates they belong to
- streak, history, calendar, stats, and achievement information
- customization settings such as accent color and profile photo
- reminder settings, if you choose to use reminders
In plain terms: your entries, profile photo, reminder settings, streaks, and history stay privately on your device. They are not sitting in a Three Good Things database somewhere.
Reminder notifications are scheduled through iOS. You can change notification permission at any time in the Settings app on your iPhone.
Limited diagnostics sent off device
Three Good Things sends limited app-health and usage diagnostics through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix bugs and improve reliability. This does not include your journal entries, profile name, profile photo, search text, or anything you write in your journal.
Separately, if you contact us by email or through the website contact form, we receive the contact information and message you choose to send. Website contact messages are processed by Cloudflare and Resend so they can be delivered by email.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account.
- We do not host or sync your journal entries.
- We do not have a way to read your journal entries.
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not access your contacts.
- We do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers to run the app and website:
- Firebase Analytics for app usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting
- Cloudflare for website hosting and the contact form endpoint
- Resend for delivering contact form emails
These providers help with app health, website hosting, and contact messages. They are not given your journal entries because your journal entries are not sent to us.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and publish the revised policy on this page.
