Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

Your journal is private.

Three Good Things is built around a simple idea: your good things are yours. Your journal entries and any photos or videos you attach are stored securely and privately on your device. We do not operate a journal-sync service, and we do not receive, read, store, or have access to that content. We cannot look up your journal, recover it for you, or view it from a server.

If you use iCloud Backup or another device backup, iOS or iPadOS may include app data in backups according to your Apple device settings. Those backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Three Good Things.

What stays on your device

The words you write, your attached photos and videos, your complete journal history, and your profile photo stay on your device. They are never sent to Three Good Things, and we cannot access them.

Reminder notifications are scheduled through iOS or iPadOS. You can change notification permission at any time in the Settings app on your device.

Limited diagnostics sent off device

Three Good Things sends limited app-health and usage diagnostics through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix bugs and improve reliability.

These diagnostics may include non-content app signals such as app version, iOS or iPadOS version, device model, crash details, broad app events, completion counts, streak counts, reminder status or reminder time, selected accent color, and date values used for app events like completing a day or filtering history.

This does not include your journal entries, attached photos or videos, profile name, profile photo, search text, or anything you write in your journal. We do not receive, read, store, or have access to the good things you write or attach.

Separately, if you contact us by email or through the website contact form, we receive the contact information and message you choose to send. Website contact messages are processed by Cloudflare and Resend so they can be delivered by email.

What we do not do

  • We do not require an account.
  • We do not host or sync your journal entries.
  • We do not have a way to read your journal entries.
  • We do not collect your precise location.
  • We do not access your contacts.
  • We do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
  • We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

We use a small number of service providers to run the app and website:

  • Firebase Analytics for app usage analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting
  • Cloudflare for website hosting and the contact form endpoint
  • Resend for delivering contact form emails

These providers help with app health, website hosting, and contact messages. They are not given your journal entries because your journal entries are not sent to us.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date above and publish the revised policy on this page.
